This year we are going to reverse the walk. We will start at St. Mary's of False River in New Roads, LA and walk to Immaculate Conception Church in Lakeland, LA. Eleven years ago our original intent was to alternate each year. Now we are able to do that. Fr. Todd was excited for us to come there. Our stops will be a little different since we will walk on the opposite side of the road. (with traffic). Everything else will be the same. Thanks so much for walking with us. We look forward to seeing old friends and look forward to meeting newcomers to the walk. God Bless!

It's that time of year again. Seems like we just did this...LOL! It's just a little earlier this year. Hope everyone is ready for this walk. So much is happening in the Church these days that we need to pray for.
We will dedicate this Walk to Pope Benedict for all of his service as Priest, Bishop, Cardinal & Pope. He has given so much to us as a theologion, writer and protector of the faith. We also dedicate this walk for our new Pope. Hopefully we will know who He is before the walk. We pary God's hand be upon him that he will continue to lead us in the way of truth.
We also want to pray for this time of persecution of the Church as it battles for Religious Freedom and Life.

3/23/11 Well it's that time again. JUST 31 DAYS TO GO!!! Lent is here and flying by. Already starting the third week. Good Friday is fast approaching. Since you're here reading and looking at the site, you can register online right now. Just click on the Registration Tab to your left and fill out the form. Doesn't cost $$ you anything except time spending the day in prayer and sacrifice. I say sacrifice because I know there are a lot of other things that you could do on your day off besides walking 12 miles, carrying a huge and heavy cross and rosary. But I can guarantee you it won't be as satisfying. When you carry the cross it's a meditation. It puts in prospective the mangnitude of what he did for you and me, sinners. Can you imagine how could he carry that Cross up the hill after being beaten, bleeding and dying. He took on ALL the sins of the world upon that Cross and allowed us to be washed of our sins in the Blood of the Lamb. He opened the Gates of Heaven for true believers. He did it for YOU. You won't regret it. It's not an easy day but it's one that you will remember forever!
3/24/11 Connie and I are busy trying to get things together for the walk. We have been busy revising and printing registration forms, posters and getting all of that to the churches. We have applied for the permit. Still waiting to get that approval. We've also started preparations for the day. We have commitments on water, gatoraid & ice (Donated by NRG), Cold Drinks for Lunch (Donated by Waterloo Grocery), the trailers (thanks guys), and the sound system has been rented. Tomorrow I have to take care of the renting the busses. If anyone wants to bring snack bags of fruit or other replinishing snacks please contact Connie.
We are very concerned about the weather (heat) on Good Friday because it's so late this year. The first year we had the walk, Easter was late April. It was very HOT. After the walk a lot of people were dehydrated, and sunburnt. So if it is a hot day PLEASE be sure to drink a lot of fluids. Alternate a bottle of water with a bottle of gatoraide to keep from getting dehydrated. I know a lot of you don't like to drink alot because you have to go to the potty. But if it's hot you need to keep yourself hydrated so you don't get sick. Also if it's going to be hot we will have an ice chest of cold towels to help revive you if you need it. We have a couple of vehicles for you to take a break and get in some air conditioning if you need it.
It's late and I need to go to bed. Pray for the walk and may God Bless You.
4/6/2011 Can you believe the walk is in 16 days. The busses have been rented and the T-Shirts ordered. If you haven't seen them. Check out the web store. You still have time to order. If you don't buy a t-shirt we are asking that you wear a RED shirt for the walk. We just think it makes a statement and makes an impression on people passing by that we are united in prayer for this day. Connie is busy with the Immaculate Conceptions Church Fair this weekend. She will have registration forms available to sign up and order your T-Shirt at the craft booth. This year we will have 4 potties to help make the line go faster. If your interested in making peanut butter sandwiches or providing fruit or snacks please contact Connie. Please pray for the walk. I know God will bless all those who are walking in some personal way.
